Telecommunications Buying Consortium
for Educational Institutions
-
CollegeConnex was formed in 2002 by University IT Directors and the executives of allConnex to build the strongest buying consortium for educational institutions in the industry.
-
CollegeConnex's one simple mission is: " To use the buying power of all the participating collegeConnex institutions to create a model that allows for the best industry pricing available with the softest contractual terms available from the greatest backbone telecommunications providers in the world."
-
The model is simple: as more institutions or schools sign up for services, and the revenue grows, then the prices for every participating school or institution will go down - immediately.
A sample of CollegeConnex Members:

-
The First Product negotiated in the collegeConnex consortium was a Dedicated Long Distance Rate that Started at .017 interstate and has now lowered to .013 with the newest member of the consortium "University of Nebraska". As the consortium stands today the rate is set to lower again this Summer for all Member Institutions. This rate is available on Sprint, Global Crossing, MCI, and Qwest and all services are billed by Zone Telecom, www.zonetelecom.com.
-
The new CollegeConnex VOIP Gateway Product has arrived and can dramatically lower your intralata/intrastate LD costs (to as low as .013/min) and all while lowering your trunking costs.
